Maligano jasper is a rare variety of jasper that forms in ancient volcanic hot springs in Sulawesi, Indonesia. It was discovered around 2011–2012 and is named after a small village in the region. Maligano jasper is known for its contrasting hues of blue, yellow, red, green, and grey, as well as brecciated patterning, veins of agate, and dendrites. The patterns resemble mountains, rivers, bushes, flowers, oceans, and babbling brooks.
